Dear Parents, September 23, 2009

The corrected spelling test is in the parent folder awaiting your signature. The Unit 5 spelling list for next week is in the folder. Also sign the parent folder. There are also some other corrected seatwork papers in the folder that you may keep. There is a study sheet in the parent folder for the Chapter 2 math test on Monday, Sept. 28th. The students have been reviewing these skills this week and if they study this practice test, they should do well on MondayŐs test.

DonŐt forget that there is no school on Friday, September 23rd. It is a Teacher Inservice Day.

There is a school picture flyer in the folder. Student pictures will be taken on Friday, October 2nd. There is an envelope with the different cost packages. Use this envelope to indicate your choice for the student pictures.

There is a Community Center Flyer welcoming students in grades K-5 for a variety of activities from arts and crafts to homework help and tutoring. The after-school program will begin on Monday, September 21st.

The PTG have the October Box Tops for Education Flyer with cute bat boxes to paste your box tops. Return the sheet by October 23rd.

The September Messenger is in the parent folder. It includes a calendar of Upcoming Events and also more detail on the Open House. It will be on Monday, September 28th from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. From 6:30 until 7:00, grades 3 to 5 will have an informational fair in the gym. The topics are listed on the memo. Then from 7:00 until 7:30, parents will have the opportunity to visit the classroom. I look forward to meeting all the parents.
