I would like to thank all the parents who were able to attend the Open House. I

enjoyed meeting with the parents. It felt like a bit of a reunion as I had the opportunity to meet with some former students of mine which was really fun. If I missed talking with you directly or you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at school or through my email.

Remind students to bring home their student assignment notebooks. Some students are forgetting to complete assignments. Also I post my assignments to my website at www.my-classroom.org. The district is still working on enabling the school computers to upload my assignments from school. You may need to wait until I get home from school to view the assignments which I will upload from home.

We are going to begin class work for our Character Sketch presentation on October 30th. I appreciate your help in assisting your child in selecting a book that he/she can use for their character sketch. Some students have told me they already have a book and character in mind to use. Students may even use their Halloween costume if they can find a book that includes character traits of the character they select. The student will need bring his book to school so I can see what they are going to use.

I would like students to make this decision and bring their book in as soon as possible. Ms. Huff and I will assist them in writing their character sketch at school. Students may have to finish the rough draft at home once I get them started. I appreciate your help on this project. The students really enjoy this activity which integrates reading, technology, writing and oral presentation skills.

Please sign the corrected spelling test and also the parent signature sheet for the Chapter 2 math test which is inside the spelling test booklet. Also sign the parent folder.

There is a memo on our visiting author for this year. ItŐs Martha Freeman . She will also have a presentation for parents and students on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 6:30 to 7:30. There is a memo on October events at school and also a parentsŐ tip bookmark. Have a nice weekend.
